About Me: Hipster extrordinaire? I study acting and cultural studies at Columbia College, as well as creative nonfiction, poetry, and comedy writing. I juggle obsessions with music (indie pop, twee pop, dream pop, folk, and 60’s garage revival, to be specific) and television (30 Rock, Community, Parks & Rec, Archer, Twin Peaks, Mad Men, Sherlock, and of course Doctor Who are my primaries). I value enjoying life above all else.

Why I love Doctor Who: After I finally started watching Doctor Who back in May, (thanks to a particularly vocal fan in my Improv 1 class) I immediately fell head over heels for the Doctor. The blend of science fiction, romance, action, drama, and comedy not only appeals to all of my favorite things, but the character of The Doctor inspires me to take a much more whimsical approach to the way I live my life.

Thanks to all of the new followers, and all the messages and submissions we’ve been getting!  I’m thrilled that people are so excited about this Tumblr and I’m glad that the posts over on textsfromthetardis were able to inspire this project.  That said, there are now a lot of submissions and I don’t want to flood everyone’s dashes, so I will be setting up a que to post these.  Don’t worry if it takes a few days for your submission to show up.

There is only one mod running this right now, so I will do my best to respond to any questions or requests but please be patient!  Thank you all.

About Me: I go to college in Chicago (ask me, and I’ll tell you), and I major in Russian and English. I’m also one of the mods at creatinggallifreyan - can you tell I love languages? I’m Latina and Pagan, so you better love it! I think 10 was the best doctor of New Who, but 11 is my favorite (besides Donna), and I have a deep appreciation for 9. My favorite Companion is River (well, if Donna has to count as a Companion, then she’s first). My go-to crying episode is Turn Left, and my favorite dual episode is The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang.

Why I love Doctor Who: There’s such imagination in the story, but you never lose the realism. I love the new friends and Companions; the guest-writer episodes and the guest-star episodes. There’s such a legacy and history in it, but it reinvents itself so often; it’s amazing.

Why I love Doctor Who: I think Doctor Who is magical. It’s beautiful and universal. I think when you find something like that you have no choice but to love it. Doctor Who brings people together and I think that’s amazing.

Yes, absolutely!

This was created mainly as a dating tumblr, but we’re fully aware that not everyone is interested in dating, and that some people who may be interested in dating may also be aromantic or asexual, so anyone who would like to meet Doctor Who fans for any sort of relationship - sexual, dating, friendship, online penpals, or anything else - is welcome here.  If you use the submission page to tell us about yourself, there’s a section asking what you’re looking for, and you can be as specific as you’d like there.

Welcome to Whovian Dating!

This Tumblr was created due to some posts on textsfromthetardis about single people who wished they could date someone who was also into Doctor Who.  We’re trying to compile a list of single Whovians in one place and make them searchable by things like age range, location, and gender so that all of you can find your new companion.

Although this is intended to be for dating, you can also use it to just find cool new friends in your area.

This can’t work without your submissions, so if you’re interested, please head over to the submit page!

Also, we’re still working on how to tag things by location and will be adding more specific city and country tags as we get more submissions from people in those locations.  We can’t list every single city and have put in just a few locations for now, but will try to add more for locations that have high concentrations of Doctor Who fans.  If you’d like your city, state, county, etc to be a tag and it isn’t already, just drop a note in our askbox please.
